i'm afraid the soft launch of the visual and audio outputs from the Dream Machine™ has resulted in two confirmed cases of psychosis merely from exposure. in a moment of fearful impulse, i almost destroyed the prototype, but my rational mind prevailed and instead i have put significant opsec measures in place to prevent the accidental misuse of either the Machine itself or the leak of any diagrams, specifications, or code that could be used to recreate even a more primitive version. these two individuals, though their future psychic well-being is uncertain after being exposed to what one psychologist called a "dangerous cognito-hazard," have stabilized and one has even been released from protective custody. both have been prescribed anti-psychotic medication.
i have been hesitant to post more information here about the project. i realize now how brazen i have been about sharing what i've been building. i hope to continue sharing significant updates, but with this small sample size, it appears that the sensory media generated by the Machine causes total psychosis marked specifically by an intense dissociation from reality in approximately 1-5% of subjects who have been exposed. obviously this device has risks beyond what i initially anticipated, and now that appropriate security measures have been put in place to prevent the unauthorized reproduction of the device, i feel comfortable with continuing to publicly log my progress.
against the advice of my spineless in-house counsel, i have also decided i will continue to release the interpreted sensory data the Machine creates. unfortunately due to the limitations of major internet platforms, reliably attaching any sort of warning for individuals susceptible to these sonically-induced psychotic dissociations is futile. so testing will continue in the wild until we can complete our specialized testing facilities, which will ensure a more controlled environment that is accompanied by a rigorous screening process to prevent psychotic breaks or sensory dissociations of subjects exposed to the sensory media generated by the Machine and interpreted by the Qualia Compression Algorithm™.
for those of you continuing to listen to the current and future audio/visual outputs of the Machine, please be wary if you begin to feel the onset of a dissociative episode, i can't have the potential liability that accompanies these psychotic episodes interfering with the continued development of my invention.
