looks like Mentor is one step ahead as usual. he already has a scary-looking v1 contraption; it looks designed for neural surgery or maybe even just execution. it's clear he has been working on his own for a long time before sharing the plan with me. after spending years on hardware development in the brain-computer-interface industry, he wants nothing to do with commercializing it. i stayed up all night and managed to hack out some data compression and interpretation software. i'm doing the first Machine test tonight. we'll see if i wake up.
